Rigidcore Fastening Systems
Composite sandwich systems using traditional honeycomb, balsa, and foam as core materials face inherent limitations due to the inability of these core materials to readily accept fasteners. Rigidcore-based sandwich composites have the potential to more readily accept fasteners due to the angular orientation of the tetrahedral-octahedral honeycomb walls. The planar walls of the honeycomb are also linear and so distribute forces throughout the honeycomb system more readily than other alternatives. If you have the need for a simpler fastening alternative in your sandwich composite system, we’d like to hear from you. Rigidcore is currently seeking research and development partners who are seeking a sandwich composite fastening system with more strength and the potential for greater visual elegance than those currently offered.
